what to see during Serengeti Calving Season Safari
Serengeti Calving Season safari will reveal the reason nearly two million wildebeest brave the potential dangers of the annual migration. Between the months of January and mid-March the Serengeti comes to life as over a million wildebeest migrate from the North of Serengeti to the Southern part of the park to calve for almost 8000 new calf each day. The calcium-rich grass shoots from the green season attract pregnant wildebeest in search of sustenance for their soon-to-be newborns.
