Your 8-day bush-and-beach adventure begins with a morning pickup in Arusha followed by a scenic 2-hour drive through open pastoral Maasai savannas into Tarangire National Park. Celebrated as the ‘Sanctuary of Elephants,’ Tarangire features towering baobab trees and a permanent river valley acting as a vital dry-season wildlife magnet.
Spend the day tracking massive elephant herds along the riverbanks, alongside tree-climbing lions, giraffes, buffaloes, zebras, and impalas. Enjoy an elevated bush picnic lunch overlooking the river valley.
In the late afternoon, ascend the Great Rift Valley escarpment to the fertile Karatu Highlands for dinner and overnight rest.

Will You See the Great Migration on the 8-Day Tanzania Safari & Zanzibar Beach Holiday?
The migration is a year-round loop, not a single event: calving on the southern plains from December to March, the trek north and west from April to June, and the Mara River from July to October.
This route is based in Central Serengeti (Seronera), the park’s predator capital, where lions, leopards and cheetahs live all year. Depending on the month the herds may be close by or further away — tell us your dates and we’ll position the route.

A year-round route — but the season changes everything.
July – October (Dry Season)
The best window for both halves of the trip: dry-season game viewing, and sunny, breezy beach weather on Zanzibar.
December – February (Warm & Dry)
A warm dry spell with calm, clear seas on Zanzibar and green, quieter parks on safari.
April – May (Long Rains)
The long rains reach the parks and the island together. Roads can be slow, sea visibility drops and some resorts close — we don’t recommend this route in these months.

The holiday ends on Zanzibar. Book your international departure from Zanzibar (ZNZ) on the final day — your resort transfer to the airport is part of the package.

Travellers need a Tanzania tourist visa, which also covers Zanzibar.

A yellow fever certificate is required if you arrive from a country with yellow fever risk.
All foreign visitors to Zanzibar must buy the Zanzibar Insurance Corporation inbound policy in advance through the official ZIC portal. Your own travel insurance does not replace it, and you show the ZIC QR code on arrival.
Highly recommended. Choose cover that includes medical evacuation from remote parks.
Safari packages exclude international airfare. Book your arrival and departure around the start and end points shown in the Flights section.
Tipping is customary but always your choice. Our recommended guidelines:

This was such an amazing trip that covered the Ngorongoro crater area with all its wildlife roaming freely, the Serengeti and the migration of the wildebeest crossing over into Kenya.
