Questions

Frequently asked questions

None at all — it’s a guided walk on clear forest trails, not a technical climb. A moderate level of fitness helps for the steady uphill, but no ropes, gear or altitude experience are needed.

No — the summit is a multi-day climb. The day hike takes you into the rainforest zone to the first hut (Mandara at 2,700 m on Marangu), giving you a real taste of the mountain and a completion certificate.

Marangu is the classic, slightly cheaper day hike to Mandara Hut. Lemosho is quieter and more scenic, at a little higher cost. Both are excellent day options — we’ll match it to your preference and fitness.

Sturdy shoes or boots, a light rain jacket, a warm layer, sun protection, and a small daypack. The permit, guide, transfers, lunch and water are included; bring cash for tips.
