Questions

Frequently asked questions

No — it’s a predator-light park with no lions or rhinos. That’s part of its appeal: it’s safe to canoe and walk among giraffe, buffalo, zebra and abundant primates and birds.

The canoeing — Arusha National Park is the only park in the region offering a canoe safari, gliding across the Momella Lakes among flamingos. Few day trips combine paddling, a game drive and a crater in one.

Ideal — it’s close to town, gentle, and packs in varied scenery, making it a perfect first day to ease into safari mode before a bigger trip.

Yes — a ranger-led walking safari can be added for a small extra fee. Because the park has no dangerous predators, it’s one of the safest places to explore on foot.
