AW-LEG-01 ·

By accepting a quotation, confirming a booking, or participating in a trip arranged by Active Wonders Safaris, the client confirms that they have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms & Conditions.

Where one person makes a booking on behalf of a group, that person is responsible for communicating these Terms & Conditions to all members of the booking party.

01About Our Services

Active Wonders Safaris is a Tanzania-based tour operator offering safari, wildlife, cultural, beach, and other travel experiences.

Our services may include the arrangement of:

  • Safari transportation;
  • Accommodation;
  • National park and conservation services;
  • Guided activities;
  • Cultural experiences;
  • Airport and other transfers; and
  • Other travel services included in the confirmed itinerary.

The specific services included in each booking are those stated in the final confirmed itinerary or quotation.

02Quotations and Prices

All quotations are based on the information available and the prices applicable at the time the quotation is prepared.

A quotation may be affected by changes in:

  • Accommodation rates;
  • Park and conservation fees;
  • Government taxes and levies;
  • Fuel and transportation costs;
  • Exchange rates;
  • Supplier prices; or
  • Other costs outside the reasonable control of Active Wonders Safaris.

A quotation is not a confirmed booking until the required booking conditions have been fulfilled and the booking has been confirmed by Active Wonders Safaris.

Unless otherwise stated, prices are based on the services and arrangements specifically described in the quotation or confirmed itinerary.

03Confirmed Itinerary and Availability

All proposed itineraries and quotations are subject to availability.

Accommodation, camps, lodges, activities, vehicles, and other services are not guaranteed until confirmed by Active Wonders Safaris.

If a selected accommodation or service becomes unavailable, Active Wonders Safaris may offer a suitable alternative of a similar or higher standard.

Where an alternative is more expensive, an additional charge may apply.

If a suitable alternative cannot be agreed upon, the affected service may be subject to the applicable refund terms.

04Changes to the Itinerary

Active Wonders Safaris may make reasonable changes to an itinerary where necessary due to:

  • Accommodation availability;
  • Park or conservation regulations;
  • Road conditions;
  • Weather conditions;
  • Safety considerations;
  • Operational requirements;
  • Changes by suppliers; or
  • Other circumstances beyond our reasonable control.

We will make reasonable efforts to maintain the overall quality and purpose of the trip and will communicate significant changes to the client as soon as reasonably possible.

05Accommodation

Accommodation is provided according to the confirmed itinerary.

Specific room types, bedding arrangements, adjoining rooms, connecting rooms, views, and other special requests are subject to availability and cannot always be guaranteed.

Where a requested accommodation becomes unavailable, Active Wonders Safaris may provide a suitable alternative.

06Special Requests and Dietary Requirements

Special requests should be communicated at the time of booking.

These may include:

  • Dietary requirements;
  • Allergies;
  • Room preferences;
  • Bedding arrangements;
  • Accessibility requirements; and
  • Other specific travel needs.

We will make reasonable efforts to communicate special requests to the relevant suppliers.

However, special requests are subject to availability and cannot always be guaranteed.

Clients should inform Active Wonders Safaris of any important dietary or medical requirements before travel.

07Health, Fitness, and Medical Conditions

Clients are responsible for ensuring that they are physically and medically suitable for the activities included in their itinerary.

Some safari and travel activities may involve:

  • Long journeys;
  • Uneven terrain;
  • Walking;
  • Heat and changing weather conditions;
  • Remote locations; and
  • Limited access to medical facilities.

Clients should inform Active Wonders Safaris in advance of any medical condition, disability, mobility limitation, allergy, or other condition that may affect their safety or participation in the planned activities.

Clients are responsible for carrying any necessary medication and following appropriate medical advice.

08Passports, Visas, and Travel Documents

Clients are responsible for ensuring that they have all necessary travel documents before departure.

This includes:

  • A valid passport;
  • Required visas and permits;
  • Any required travel authorisations; and
  • Other documents required for entry into Tanzania or any other destination included in the itinerary.

Clients are responsible for checking the requirements applicable to their nationality and travel plans.

Active Wonders Safaris is not responsible for losses, delays, denied entry, or additional costs resulting from missing, invalid, or incomplete travel documents.

09Travel Insurance

We strongly recommend that all clients obtain comprehensive travel insurance before travelling.

Travel insurance should ideally cover:

  • Medical expenses;
  • Emergency evacuation;
  • Trip cancellation;
  • Trip interruption;
  • Lost or delayed baggage;
  • Travel delays; and
  • Other unexpected travel-related events.

Clients are responsible for ensuring that their insurance provides suitable coverage for their individual circumstances and itinerary.

10Transportation and Safari Vehicles

Active Wonders Safaris makes reasonable efforts to provide safe and properly maintained vehicles and transportation services.

However, safari travel often takes place on rural roads and challenging terrain. Delays, breakdowns, punctures, road conditions, weather, and other operational difficulties may occasionally occur.

We will make reasonable efforts to resolve transportation problems as quickly as possible.

The driver-guide may make reasonable decisions regarding routes, timing, and transportation arrangements based on safety, road conditions, weather, wildlife, and operational circumstances.

11Wildlife and Natural Environment

Wildlife sightings cannot be guaranteed.

Animals live in their natural environment and their location and behaviour are unpredictable.

Clients must follow the instructions of their guide, park authorities, and wildlife officials at all times.

Clients must not intentionally disturb, approach, feed, or harass wildlife.

Active Wonders Safaris is not responsible for the failure to see any particular animal or wildlife event.

12Activities and Personal Responsibility

Clients are expected to act responsibly and follow the reasonable instructions of guides, staff, accommodation providers, park authorities, and activity providers.

A client may be excluded from an activity where their behaviour or condition creates a serious safety risk to themselves or others.

No refund may be available for services missed as a result of a client’s unsafe, disruptive, or inappropriate behaviour.

13Personal Belongings

Clients are responsible for their personal belongings, valuables, passports, money, electronic devices, and luggage during the trip.

We recommend that clients take reasonable precautions to protect their personal property.

Active Wonders Safaris is not responsible for loss, theft, or damage to personal belongings except where liability cannot legally be excluded.

14Force Majeure and Unforeseen Circumstances

Active Wonders Safaris will not be responsible for failure or delay in providing services where this results from circumstances beyond our reasonable control.

Such circumstances may include:

  • Natural disasters;
  • Severe weather;
  • Floods;
  • Fires;
  • Epidemics or public health emergencies;
  • Government restrictions;
  • Changes in laws or regulations;
  • War or civil unrest;
  • Strikes;
  • Road closures;
  • Park closures;
  • Supplier failure; or
  • Other extraordinary circumstances beyond our reasonable control.

Where possible, Active Wonders Safaris will work with the client to find a reasonable alternative arrangement.

15Third-Party Service Providers

Some services included in a trip may be provided by independent third-party suppliers, including accommodation providers, transport providers, activity operators, airlines, and other travel service providers.

We carefully select and work with service providers where reasonably possible.

However, third-party services may be subject to the provider’s own terms, conditions, and operational limitations.

16Client Conduct

Clients are expected to behave respectfully and responsibly throughout their trip.

Active Wonders Safaris may take reasonable action, including ending a client’s participation in an activity or trip, where a client’s behaviour:

  • Seriously endangers themselves or others;
  • Causes significant damage to property;
  • Is abusive, threatening, or seriously disruptive; or
  • Prevents the reasonable operation of the itinerary.

In such circumstances, the client may be responsible for any additional costs resulting from their conduct, and no refund may be available for unused services.

17Children and Minors

A parent, legal guardian, or responsible adult is responsible for children and minors travelling as part of a booking.

Parents or guardians should inform Active Wonders Safaris of any relevant requirements, medical conditions, dietary needs, or special arrangements relating to children travelling on the trip.

18Complaints During the Trip

If a client experiences a problem during their trip, they should notify Active Wonders Safaris or the relevant service provider as soon as reasonably possible.

Giving us the opportunity to address a problem during the trip may allow us to resolve it promptly.

Complaints raised after the completion of a trip may be more difficult to investigate or resolve.

19Liability

Active Wonders Safaris will take reasonable care in arranging the services included in a confirmed itinerary.

However, we are not responsible for loss, damage, delay, injury, or expense arising from circumstances beyond our reasonable control or from the acts or omissions of independent third-party service providers, except where liability cannot legally be excluded.

Nothing in these Terms & Conditions is intended to exclude or limit any liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited under applicable law.

20Acceptance of These Terms

By accepting a quotation, making a booking, paying a deposit, or participating in a trip arranged by Active Wonders Safaris, the client confirms that they have read and accepted these Terms & Conditions.

These Terms & Conditions should be read together with the applicable:

  • Booking & Payment Policy;
  • Cancellation Policy;
  • Privacy Policy; and
  • Other terms specifically included in the client’s confirmed quotation or itinerary.

Where a specific written agreement or confirmed quotation contains different terms for a particular booking, those specific terms may apply to that booking.

21Changes to These Terms & Conditions

Active Wonders Safaris may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time to reflect changes in our services, operations, or applicable requirements.

The updated version will be published on our website with a revised “Last Updated” date.

The Terms & Conditions applicable to a confirmed booking will generally be those accepted by the client at the time of booking, unless otherwise required by applicable law or agreed in writing.
